burnaby north lawn bowling club

membership information

Bowling is easy and we do not wear "whites" all the time - casual clothing is worn for all the club aggregates. New members will be shown how to play the game. The club will lend new members bowls for their first year of bowling.  We will make you welcome and introduce you to new people.

If you want to do more, the club welcomes volunteers to assist with maintaining the greens, maintaining the machinery and equipment, gardening, kitchen staff and assisting in the various social functions.

Membership Details

There is something for everyone. New bowlers (and old ones as well) are encouraged to take part in the club activities.  Within the club we offer our bowlers mixed aggregate play four days a week, several club competitions and inter-club competitions.  For those who wish to be more competitive, the BNLBC  is a member of Bowls BC and all club members are eligible to compete in district competitions that may lead on to provincial, national and international competitions.

Lawn Bowling is an equal opportunity sport. Women compete equally with men, mixed teams are the norm and age is not a barrier. All you need to start is an inexpensive pair of flat soled shoes (no heels or deep treads) and you are ready to start learning the sport of Bowls.
